Don't Ask, Don't Tell

The uniform is really his.

So are the medals, ribbons and badges.

He is a master sergeant in the U.S. Army

The round badge on the right is the Office of the Secretary of Defense badge for service in that office.

The two stripes on his sleeve are for 1 year of combat service in Viet Nam.

The stack of stripes on the other sleeve, are “Longevity stripes” earned for 24 years of service to his country.

He is brave.

He is loyal.

He is Gay

(The gay pride ribbon, names project pin, the rainbow heart and the love ribbon are the only non -military issue symbols on this uniform. These are all symbols of gay pride and in remembrance of those who have suffered.)
